Details

This is another in the series of weekday f/Stops photo excursions around the LA area. As always, it is designed to be an informal opportunity for photography as well as a chance to interact among our fellow photo enthusiasts.

Sometimes we forget that we have one of the famous original California missions right here in our backyard. It was originally founded in the 18th century and there aren't many buildings around Los Angeles that can say that. These days it's a working Catholic church so the grounds are very well kept.

It's a very pleasant place to be, the church interiors are very interesting, the buildings are in that old mission style, there is a fabulous colonnade on the exterior, peacocks strut around like they own the place and there are some nice angles outside the mission.

The photographic challenge will be to capture an image that hasn't been taken a million times before. Besides that, this should be a very low key Meet-Up. I hope the June gloom will not be too bad.

Some Info:

  1. There is an entry fee of $4. (You get a map for a self-guided tour.)
