Signed into law on December 31st, 2011 by President Barack Obama, the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act allows the President to, at his discretion, order any person, including an American citizen, to be indefinitely detained without a charge or trial. PANDA is the largest movement in America pushing back, and four cities (Albany, NY, Emmett, ID, and Webster and Oxford, MA voted to prohibit the 2012 NDAA with PANDA's help).
Dan Johnson founded PANDA in January 2012, and it has since become the largest Anti-NDAA organization in America, introducing or pushing over 18 pieces of state and numerous pieces of local anti-NDAA legislation. A grassroots, nonpartisn, nonviolent organization, PANDA assists groups across the political spectrum united to prevent the laws of war from being used here in the US and on American citizens anywhere in the world.
Dan has written for several publications, including the Huffington Post, Policy Mic, Occupy.com, and Western Journalism. He has spoken at PAUL fest, the Northwest Ohio Conservative Conference, CRWF Northern Division Convention, Libertopia, the Consitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Convention, dozens of tea parties and peace gatherings, and more. He has been interviewed on numerous radio shows including Coast to Coast AM, Liberty Roundtable, and Red Ice Radio.
