We will help feed 400 individuals participating in the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center Ministry. Persons who have sought this ministry have come with issues of substance misuse, legal problems, relational conflicts (domestic abuse), homelessness, and unemployment. The Adult Rehabilitation Center Ministry is about spiritual awakening and restoration.

General Participation: 35 volunteers are needed to work with the Salvation Army kitchen crew to set and serve 4 lunch groups. Prince of Peace will provide transportation (bus) to the event. The Salvation Army will provide the facilities, food, aprons, and gloves. Volunteers will need to wear ball caps to cover their hair. Volunteers must be 12 or older.
Supervision: Two adult volunteers are needed to supervise any young participants making the trip.

Volunteers will meet at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church conference center building 9 (campus map (http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/b/e/4/8/highres_52728712.jpeg)) no later than 10:00 AM to board the bus to the Carr P. Collins Center, 5302 Harry Hines Blvd. Dallas, TX
Volunteers will work at the Salvation Army from 11:00 - 1:00.
Lunch The group will stop for a sit down lunch at Ojedas Mexican Restaurant on the return trip to share fellowship - we have a table of 40 reserved. The lunch is $8.00 (which is a discounted price that includes both tax and tip). Please bring cash - it's easier to manage for us and it helps the restaurant reduce their price to us (i.e., no credit card fees).
Salvation Army Special Instructions
Volunteers serving in all areas of the Carr P. Collins Social Service Center are asked to dress comfortably and appropriately for the work which they will be doing, and to follow the guidelines below:
APPROPRIATE
Slacks or jeans for men Skirt or slacks or jeans for women. For work in the warehouse or kitchen, jeans and tennis shoes are recommended. Modest shorts are acceptable in the warehouse during summer months. Shirts, blouses, sweaters and tee shirts must have sleeves and be properly closed. Appropriate undergarments must be worn. Shoes must be worn at all times; no flip flops. NOT APPROPRIATE FOR CARR P. COLLINS SOCIAL SERVICE CENTER
No “see-through” material is allowed. Low neck blouses, halter tops, bare midriff, tube tops, or strapless tops. Spandex tights or provocative garments are not acceptable. No low-riders, hip-huggers, or baggy jeans worn below the waist. Clothing with provocative slogans, drawings, signs, or other wording or artwork that is not in keeping with the Christian philosophy of The Salvation Army is not acceptable.
