McWhorter Elementary Meet-the-Teacher School Fair

For 2012, we have adopted McWhorter Elementary School and we will be hosting a back-to-school, meet-the-teacher event with games, prizes, and food. McWhorter Elementary School has 680 students in grades K-5. The enrollment zone for the school the geographic triangle created by Frankfort Rd, Midway Rd, and George Bush Turnpike. The area includes the Prince of Peace Tivoli Mission and 14 other apartment complexes.

We will distribute backpacks and school supplies to children in need as qualified by the school administration.

This is a parent-child event. We are expecting 900-1,000 participants.

Call for Volunteers

50 volunteers needed We need 60 volunteers to serve as greeters, help with registration, staff the supply and game stations and serve food.

Time and Place The event will take place from 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM. Volunteers will meet at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Conference Center /Building #9 (campus map (http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/b/e/4/8/highres_52728712.jpeg)) at 8:30 AM to organize, load supplies and pray prior to caravaning two miles over to McWhorter Elementary School 3678 Timberglen Rd, Dallas, TX 75287 (directions (http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/b/d/b/2/highres_99828562.jpeg)). The event will be held in the school cafeteria and gymnasium and outside.
