Special Guest Speaker on Religious Freedom
Wednesday February 18th 2015, at 7:30 PM the Libertarian Party of Oakland County will have at our next affiliate meeting , from right here in the metro Detroit area, Family Law Mediator, Minister, and Defender of religious freedoms, the Reverend Neil Carrick.
Neil has pastored for over 30 years and recently filed a lawsuit against Governor Rick Snyder appealing a law on Michigan books that heavily penalizes clergy for performing specific kinds of marriage ceremonies. Since the lawsuit was filed, just a few weeks ago, he has been featured in the Detroit News, from there the Washington Post. He's been on radio since then, has been scheduled to appear on the TV show "Let it Rip", has had an audience with local officials and gathered support for the issue from some of our country's most prominent pastors. Now at our meeting he'll share with us what he shared with them.
The meeting will be held in the back meeting room of Silas Italian Dining, 4022 W. 12 Mile Berkley, Michigan. Official meeting begins promptly at 7:30pm but you are welcomed to come anytime after 6:30pm to have dinner.
It promises to be a very informative meeting which, I'm sure, will challenge you to support the issue.

Our regular meeting includes one of the best oppurtunties we have to coordinate with each other in our fight for individual liberty and a Libertarian victory in November 2012.
We'll also have our regular run down of Libertarian Party news and activities.
Sila's Italian Restaurant in Berkley has a large meeting room in the back. If you can't find us for some reason just tell a server you are there for the Libertarian Party Meeting and they'll direct you.
We meet for casual dinner at 6:30 pm and the business meeting starts at
7:30 p.m.
