A WallCast at SoundScape: Baroque Brilliance

As part of their mission to bring classical music to more afficionados, the NWS projects select concerts on a 7,000 square foot white wall next to the center’s inviting glass entryway in front of the the park designed by Frank Gehry called the Miami Beach SoundScape.

Baroque genius Bernard Labadie returns to NWS to put his fresh spin on old favorites. Experience a taste of the dramatic with Rameau’s setting of a slice of Greek mythology and Gluck’s ballet dedicated to history’s greatest Casanova.

Soon after we rendezvous, for those interested, we'll be collecting monies (about $5) and send a few runners to buy pizza slices from Pizza Rustica.

Plan on bringing something to drink, a beach chair and/or beach blanket to enjoy the concert in comfort.

The cheapest parking for Soundscape is not the parking structure next door but the one slightly farther West (in front of the Miami Beach City Hall) but it fills up quickly.

Wallcasts are free and do not require a ticket.

A brief note: This is one of those really fun but utterly chaotic events where unless you arrive on time you most likely will not be able to sit with other Borderlinkers. SoundScape is a small public park that is super crowded for the Wallcasts. There is no practical way to reserve a space for our group unless we all arrive on time and carve out a niche by laying out a bunch of picnic blankets and establishing a perimeter with beach chairs.

A brief note II: We'll most likely meet in the center of SoundScape, between the raised sound columns, approximately 5 columns from the front. I'll be posting our exact rendezvous spot once we stake out our spot. I'll also be forwarding more contact information (including my phone number) closer to the event.
