☕ Literary Circle: The Midnight Library by Matt Haig · Relaxed and Inclusive

We're meeting up to share reactions to the thought-provoking The Midnight Library by Matt Haig in a discussion-first setting where the book drives the conversation, and no two sessions ever feel the same.

No requirement to finish — come wherever you are in the book, and bring whatever part of the book you want to talk about, and bring your feelings about it — as the discussion works best when it is driven by what actually moved you.

This is a come-as-you-are group and everyone is genuinely welcome — and the relaxed format makes it easy to contribute straight away, your presence is the only requirement, and the relaxed setting means there is no pressure on you.

The format is relaxed and member-led — with the most unexpected takes often making the best threads, and the format rewards curiosity over expertise.

---

What to bring:

  • Your copy of the book (physical or digital)
  • A coffee or tea if you want one during the session
  • Curiosity and a willingness to hear other readings
  • A list of moments or lines you want to discuss

"Did not expect to enjoy it this much — the group's takes were so different from mine and that was the point" – member who brought a friend

💡 Pre-session tip: flag a passage or two before you come, so you have something concrete to anchor your contribution, and you will find the session easier than you expected.

---
🍵 The group makes the book more than the book ever could on its own — come along and join a conversation worth having and no preparation beyond the book is needed. The group is looking forward to your read. 🍵
