Welcome to our first London meetup! It will be an experiential one as Dr Anastasia Dedyukhina will be join us to discuss, how tech changes our ability to navigate in the space, and guide through some fun exercises.

Can you find your way without consulting your phone? Research suggests that when we are over-relying on GPS, we might lose our ability to navigate through the space.

We invite you to discuss and compare, how our spatial orientation skills change as a result of overusing our phones/GPS and how we can reclaim them.

12.00-12.15 - arrivals/check-in
12.15-12.45 - discussion/theory
12.45-13.30 - practical 'street' exercises (in teams) - try to find your way faster than others from A to B without using your smartphone.
13.30-14.00 debrief: what did you learn about human navigation skills?

You are welcome to bring over your smartphone, but we'll suggest you leave it with organisers during the practical part :)

Also, please make sure you are coming on time, as we won't be able to repeat instructions to people arriving later.

Meetup is free, but places are very limited and we need to prepare certain equipment beforehand. So we kindly ask you to press 'coming' only if you are 100% sure that you are.

If you do say you are coming and don't show up, or give us a notice of less than 24 hours, this is equal to 1 warning. After 2 warnings, we'll have to remove you from the group. So please, only say you are coming if you are!
