Join us for a day of learning and networking on DPDK Architecture, User space stack and Debugging Hands on. The agenda will be a full of good sessions with plenty of time for networking, and - of course - good food.

Here are a few of the sessions and labs planned:

1.DPDK Architecture/Overview (Ramia Kannan Babu)

  1. Tools and Tricks used for quick isolation for random issues for an application using DPDK - (Vipin Vargheese)

Applications running healthy on one target starts to fails and show performance drop symptoms on another. In order to isolate and debug such random and spurious one needs have an overview on

  1. Packet life in various application models.

  2. Possible pitfalls and configuration issue.

  3. (Enhancement and changes) procinfo to extract additional and useful information.

  4. Possible tweaks in Application or Custom PMD (XDP PMD prototype)

  5. GNU tools gdb tui, nm, objdump, perf top are your friends

  6. Custom tools like malloc logger, libunwind & Memzone monitor

  7. What happening overall platform (Emon)

  8. EMON Hands-On Lab- (Muthurajan Jayakumar)
    EMON is a low-level command line tool that provides the ability to profile developer’s / customer’s application. In addition it also profiles system performance. In this lab, the audience will get to learn the usage of most commonly used performance metric collection and logging and will leave leave with resources such as troubleshooting tips, where to download EMON and most importantly, how to empower themselves by plugging into the community and gain benefit of leveraged experience of community.

  9. User Space Host Stack and Container Networking Apps - (Madhusudan Raghupatruni)

Light weight networking is the requirement for large scale containers in production, This talk will focus on recent developments in fd.io VPP host stack.
. Multi worker multi queue worker enhancements
. TCP/UDP and session API
. Interworking with kubernetes
