Discover the history of 17th century Newport you've never heard!

Details

Start by learning the competing histories of the Newport Tower from expert Jim Egan and decide who actually built it. Then walk down to the 1697 Wanton-Lyman-Hazard House for a tour by a guide from the Newport Historical Society. Walk across the street to the Great Friends Meeting House, built in 1699, the oldest surviving house of worship in Rhode Island, to learn about the wild Quakers! Finish with an insider tour of the 1657 White Horse Tavern where you may decide to stay for a drink or dinner! (Because the Historical Society charges $150, I'll need at least ten guests to sign up by May 1st. Otherwise, you'll get me. So please register early!)
