Ignacio Bejar

Musician, multi instrumentalist, composer, music researcher , cultural manager , producer and music therapist who has performed numerous concerts in major festivals and venues internationally such as Turkey , Germany , Austria , England , Morocco, Spain , Portugal and has participated in numerous ceremonies of whirling dervishes.

His motivation has always been the search for a universal language through music and improvisation to rescue and healing ritual meaning of this art that all traditional cultures have used since the beginning of mankind to connect with nature, with the spiritual world , to create a sense of unity and encounter beyond ethnic , cultural or religious differences.

In addition to participating as a founder, musician and composer in groups emblematic of the Music World as HAT ALCHEMIST , caravanserai , KHAIRKAN ,ISTANBUL or RIFAK among others, with walking scenarios theaters and festivals internationally , has studied Sufi Music and Oriental Music Therapy with Dr. Oruç Güvenç of Istanbul, knowledge transmitted by oral tradition for centuries from master to disciple according to eastern traditions from generation to generation , and has participated as a musician in rituals " Sema " or whirling dervishes in Spain , Turkey , Austria and Germany and also as a member of the research group Tumata and interprets the ritual music of Central Asia and Sufi music.

He has two solo CDs published " Epikeya , the story of a dream " ( 2000 ) and "TOWARDS THE LIGHT " ( 2014 ), along with other albums with different groups : "AKASHA SOUND , A journey trough sound" (year 2.012 ) , " HAT ALCHEMIST " ( 2009 ), " MEDITERRANEAN ALMINARES " with the group Caravasar( 2006 )

He has done soundtracks for documentaries , films and plays .Teaches workshops of MUSIC THERAPY, CREATIVITY AND CONSCIOUSNESS,also about NEY AS HEALING INSTRUMENT.

As a child, Javier’s music talent was early discovered by Rafael Orozco, one of the most recognized pianists of the XX century, who offered himself to give him private lessons to develop his clear raw talent.

After finishing his degree in Piano and Classical Music at the age of 18th, he started to perform as a piano soloist in various international orchestras including Seville Symphonic Orchestra and Kent Symphony Orchestra at Canterbury. Founding member of a number of groups (“Ibn Megas Quintet”, “Guillion Sextet”) he has been immersed in an intense musical activity, including the composition and record of various albums (Las tres orillas de Al-Andalus), film soundtracks (“So far”, “Las Tres orillas”) and theatre musicals (“La Asamblea de las mujeres” or “Salem´s witches”).

Javier has lived in many cities around the world, speaks six languages and has aMaster Degree in Piano and Composition. After long periods living in Berlin and Moscow where he has been studying different contemporary piano techniques, he is now based in London and performs wordlwide.
