Hey Hacksters!
First thing, I'd like to welcome you to the group. We know that sometimes finding time for hacking is difficult. Our objective is to create a fun environment where you can escape from daily life and build projects! Our hope is to create a bimonthly event where you can get away from your worries and get immersed in hacking!
Ada Developer Academy lends us our space. They are a coding bootcamp for women that aims to help close the gender gap in tech. If you'd like to learn more about them, visit their website here (http://adadevelopersacademy.org/).
In this workshop we'll be controlling our BLE Bot 9000 (https://www.hackster.io/29284/ble-bot-9000-c150b8)with an app on our smartphone. This is part one of a two part workshop. In part two, we'll explore javascript control of the Arduino 101.
Our BLE Bot 9000 has an Arduin101 as its brain which contains the Intel Curie microprocessor. Among its features it bosts an accelerometer and gyrosocope, and its greatest strength is Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

Now here are the requirements:
• Create an account on Hackster.io (https://www.hackster.io/users/sign_up?source=nav)
• Protoboard, cables, electronics in general (optional)
• AA batteries (we'll have some as well, but bring your own)

We'll be holding the second part (https://www.meetup.com/Seattle-Arduino-Meetup/events/236076735/) to this workshop on January 3rd. Everyone who comes to both workshops will get the chance to take home their very own BLE Bot 9000!
