Full Moon Ride - A group ride with another motorcycle group
Details
Please join us for a full moon ride! This really fun full moon ride will be part of a ride with another group. I scheduled this last year and it was a hit. For this adventure the moon will be a 'Supermoon'.
Explanation of a Supermoon per Earthsky's website: "This full moon is not only the closest and largest full moon of the year. It also presents the moon’s closest encounter with Earth for all of 2013. The moon will not be so close again until August, 2014."
You can either meet us in Lakeside (KSU 5 pm) or join us at the Ramona Cafe at approx. 5:30 pm. If you don't want to meet for dinner, join us at the restaurant by KSU 7:15 pm.
Dinner will be at the Ramona Cafe, 628 Main St., Ramona, CA, (760) 789-8656. Reservations will be under Jodi's name. There is outside and inside dining. Street and lot parking.
After dinner we'll ride out toward's Julian and Sunrise Hwy to have our ride guided by a full moon. We'll briefly stop at an overlook on Sunrise Hwy. It will be beautiful with the moon's glow lighting up the roads and landscape.
The route includes Lakeside, Ramona, Julian, Sunrise Hwy and I-8 back to San Diego. Anyone needing to fill up after Lakeside can do so in Ramona or Ramco which is nearby across from Dudley's Bakery.
Keep in mind after Ramco it's possible there won't be a gas station along this route so make sure you can ride without another fill up. The next gas at the end of the ride is probably in Alpine off Tavern Rd.
Please have a full tank before we leave.
Pic's from last year's ride:
Full moon picture was taken by Elaine, a friend of Jodi's that illuminated a previous group ride in 2012.
