Join us for "Life Science After Work" meetup #7 on the topic of “A Scientist's Journey: From Animal Research to Clinical Practice.”

This event will feature Prof. Dr. Šarūnas Tarasevičius, an experienced orthopaedic surgeon, as he shares his unique journey from conducting animal research to applying his knowledge in clinical practice.

He will be joined by Dr. Lukas Žemaitis, a molecular genetics expert, and Indrė Karaliūtė, a PhD candidate in molecular gastroenterology. Together, they’ll discuss bridging research, innovation, and clinical application.

SPEAKERS:

• Prof. Dr. Šarūnas Tarasevičius - orthopaedic surgeon at Nordclinic, one of the leading private surgical clinics in the Baltic States.Prof. Dr. Tarasevičius specializes in hip and knee joint replacement surgeries, having performed over 3,500 joint replacement procedures during his 15+ years of experience.
• Dr. Lukas Žemaitis – Molecular genetics and bioinformatics expert who led Lithuania’s first SARS-CoV-2 genome sequencing efforts. As co-founder of JSC “Genomika,” he develops innovative solutions in sequencing and DNA data storage.
• Indrė Karaliūtė – PhD candidate in molecular gastroenterology, specializing in pre-clinical research and murine models. Her experience spans Europe, where she bridges research and innovation, working closely with biotech companies to translate scientific discoveries into practical applications.
