Integrating Rich Machine Learning Capabilities in iOS 13 Apps

Details
The next iOSKW Meetup will be hosted by Workhaus Kitchener, Thursday Nov 21st.
Our guest speaker is Jean-Luc David, currently works as the Head of Mobile at Kijiji. As a side project, he is working on DailyKeto - a carb and calorie tracker coming soon on the iOS App Store.
Summary:
In this presentation, you'll learn how to integrate rich Machine Learning capabilities in your iOS 13 applications using the Core ML and Vision frameworks. You will find out how these machine learning models can be added into a real production app. This is what we will cover:
-
Goodbye Tesseract. Learn to scan and recognize text in images using VNRecognizeTextRequest
-
Detect live objects using Core ML 3, the Keras neural networks API, and neural network layer types such as InceptionV3
-
Recognize barcodes and other symbologies supported by the Vision framework
-
Recognize speech using SFSpeechRecognitionRequest
Hope to see you there! Please RSVP.

Want to make iOSKW even Better? Here are 4 awesome ideas (yes I called my own ideas awesome)
-
Be a speaker, or help recruit one. We love hearing about the projects you are working, and new learnings you would like to share. Let us know if you have an idea for a talk, or know someone we should pursue.
-
Host an iOSKW Meetup. Hosting a Meetup is a great way to raise awareness of your company and support the local developer community. Interested? Please get in touch with myself or Ivan.
-
The last one is super easy - tell the mobile developers you know about iOSKW. Studies have shown that it is really hard to attend a Meetup that you do not know about. Help us get the word out!
-
Join the organizing committee. We are always on the lookout for people that can help organize and promote iOSKW. Looking for a way to give back? We would love to hear from you.
Cheers,
Matt & Ivan
