October Hackfest

October is the month for Hactoberfest (https://hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com/), a celebration of open source software and communities. It's a fun way to contribute to open source, whether you are a beginner or an experienced hacker.

In the spirit of this month, October's Meetup will be focussed on developing and contributing to Julia and it's ecosystem. Come along if you are an experienced Julia developer. Come along if you are new to Julia and want to know more. Come along if you have Julia code you want reviewed, or have a question about any package. Come if you need help upgrading your favourite package to 1.0. Come with a project, or just with your enthusiasm!

We will have very brief (and optional) presentations to introduce you to github and git, the package ecosystem, and the codebase for Julia and few popular package. But most of the evening will be dedicated to working with code. Bring your laptop if you can, or pair up with someone. There will be Julia experts on hand to help you along, and we can point you to issues across the ecosystem that need fixing.

Arrive and leave as you like. The space will be available from around 6:15 to 8:45 PM. We will have some food and drinks early in the evening.
