AIP is pleased to offer this intensive seascape workshop focusing on abstract and long exposure photography (limited to 6 people). In this workshop, Padma, our resident long-exposure expert, will be sharing her techniques and experiences in connecting with the ocean. Padma has found a deep connection with the ocean and waves, and in the process, confers with her inner self to create the abstract images she has always longed for. This workshop aims to deliver that same level of inspiration, technique and appreciation for the beauty of the ocean to help take photographers to the next level.

We will kick off the workshop on Friday the 15th evening with an introductory session and a photoshoot at 5pm. Over the weekend, we will visit 2 fishing piers, broken pilings and trying our hand at creating painterly abstract seascape images. This weekend will be totally geared towards creating fine art seascapes with various techniques and lenses. We will be using long exposures, intentional camera movements (panning, zooming, dragging etc), and even shooting in harsh sunlight just as much as shooting in golden light. We will also have in-depth discussions regarding many challenges of photographing the ocean. This will help towards building a strong collection of images that you can be proud of and hopefully a couple of wall hangers.

While the weekend will be full of activity, there will also be breaks to rest, socializing with fellow participants and build friendships. Before the workshop, there will be an orientation zoom session to discuss the schedule and gear a week prior, and after the workshop is over, Padma will spend an hour with each of you in a one-on-one zoom session to review the images and select a few for processing. Additionally, there will be another group Zoom session for post processing 2-3 images so you can follow the workflow, 2 weeks after the workshop.
