In this hiking series, we will travel by park van

to some of North Carolina’s premier hiking

destinations. Students will learn some basic

map reading skills as well as safety practices

for day-hikes. Students should come prepared

with a bag lunch (that does not require

refrigeration), a small backpack, water bottle,

light snack, weather appropriate clothing, and

sturdy shoes/boots. This is a great way to get

some exercise and explore the excellent hiking

available in close proximity to Charlotte.
