NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING OF THE GOVERNOR’S COUNCIL ON CLIMATE CHANGE

Executive Order No. 3(E.O. 3) strengthening Connecticut’s commitment to transition to a decarbonized economy and enhance resiliency of the state’s economic, cultural, and natural resources to the impacts of climate change, including rising sea levels and flooding, increasingly powerful storms, extreme heat events, and ecosystem degradation.To support achieving this commitment, the E.O. re-establishes and expands the membership and responsibilities of the Governor’s Council on Climate Change (GC3). The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) will hold a public meeting of the GC3to review the Council’s objectives under Executive Order 3, and discuss the initial scope of work for the Council and its subcommittees and working groups. The meeting is open to the public and will include an opportunity to provide public comment.
Individuals may pre-register by 4:00 pm on December 10, 2019 to provide public comments by emailing deep.climatechange@ct.gov.
Written comments may also be submitted by email after the December 10th meeting. General information on the state’s climate change objectives and programs is available on DEEP’s website at: www.ct.gov/deep/climatechange.
