350CT Monthly Meeting

This month's meeting will begin with a presentation on Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) by Peter Millman of Eastern Connecticut Green Action. CCA allows local governments to procure power on behalf of their residents, businesses, and municipal accounts from an alternative supplier while still receiving transmission and distribution service from their existing utility. The main goals have been to lower costs for consumers and/or to allow consumers greater control of their energy mix, mainly by offering "greener" generation portfolios than local utilities. Several of our neighboring states have "enabling" legislation - but so far Connecticut does not allow CCAs.
