Grub in The Hub: Canada’s Anti-Spam Law (CASL): Practicing Safe Email

Gowlings’ technology lawyer, Paul Armitage, will tell you what you need to know about CASL—what it is all about and how to send Commercial Electronic Messages (CEMs) without being fined or sued. Topics will include types of consent, when you do and do not need expressed consent, how to prove you have consent if the Government comes knocking, and more. Leads prospecting and social media marketing will also be discussed, so bring your burning questions about CASL. This seminar will be as interactive as people make it!

Paul Armitage

Paul Armitage is a partner in Gowlings' Vancouver office practising in the Intellectual Property and Technology Law Groups. His practice focuses on procurement, technology licensing, outsourcing, commercial contracts, privacy law, cloud computing, e-commerce, and anti-spam and anti-spyware (CASL) compliance.
Paul has extensive experience in the information technology, financial services, telecommunications, life sciences and health industries, as well as infrastructure and facilities projects.
