Swing Dance 101 is a weekly drop-in class for anyone who’s ever watched someone swing dance and thought — I want to do that.

No partner needed, no experience required, and no pressure to be good at it on the first try. Or the second.

Professor Jitterbug has been teaching for 25 years and has seen every level of beginner walk through that door. You are not the worst case scenario. You are exactly who this class is for.

The format is simple: every class covers the foundations of vintage swing dancing — rhythm, movement, lead and follow, and the basic steps and stylings that make every swing style work.

Partners rotate throughout, which means you’ll spend the hour meeting everyone in the room one dance at a time.

No awkward introductions. No standing around.

Just you, some music, and a new person to figure it out with.

It’s a Tuesday night in Las Vegas. You could be doing a lot of things. This one leaves you with an actual skill and a room full of people who were all brave enough to show up alone and try something new. That counts for something.

Social Dance 101 is a weekly partner dance class designed for exactly the kind of person who shows up to a Meetup alone and leaves with a reason to come back next week.

The format does the socializing for you as every class rotates partners, which means in one hour you’ll have shared a laugh, a stumble, and a small victory with every person in the room. No small talk required. The dance handles the introduction.

Professor Jitterbug — 25 years of teaching, zero tolerance for taking any of this too seriously — uses the RAFTS framework to teach the foundational skills of social partner dancing.

Not a specific style. Not a routine to memorize. Just the tools that let you move to (almost) any song with (almost) any partner.

It’s part lesson, part social experiment, and genuinely one of the more fun hours you’ll spend on a Wednesday night in Las Vegas.

Things will go sideways. You’ll figure it out. That’s kind of the whole point.
