Social Dance 101

Meeting new people is awkward. Dancing with them doesn’t have to be.

Social Dance 101 is a weekly partner dance class designed for exactly the kind of person who shows up to a Meetup alone and leaves with a reason to come back next week.

The format does the socializing for you as every class rotates partners, which means in one hour you’ll have shared a laugh, a stumble, and a small victory with every person in the room. No small talk required. The dance handles the introduction.

Professor Jitterbug — 25 years of teaching, zero tolerance for taking any of this too seriously — uses the RAFTS framework to teach the foundational skills of social partner dancing.

Not a specific style. Not a routine to memorize. Just the tools that let you move to (almost) any song with (almost) any partner.

It’s part lesson, part social experiment, and genuinely one of the more fun hours you’ll spend on a Wednesday night in Las Vegas.

Things will go sideways. You’ll figure it out. That’s kind of the whole point.

You don’t need:
• A partner
• Experience
• Any idea what you’re doing

You just need:
• Comfortable shoes
• Willingness to try
