B and the Sting band at Lake Harriet Bandshell Friday, May 30th

Details

Free.
Musical performance is 7:30-9:00 PM.
I plan to be there by 6:30 PM.

B and the Sting
Fronted by vocalist and guitarist (and melodica, among other instruments) “B”, Barbara Meyer.
Their music: roots rock and reggae: frequent reggae sounds; funky, bluesy rock and roll. Their song choices: sometimes earthy, always uplifting - a mix of originals and covers.
A couple of my favorite covers they’ll likely perform include the sixties pop hit “5 O’ Clock World” (The Vogues, 1965), complete with yodeling - at which Barbara is quite capable; and Ziggy Marley’s “Love is My Religion”.
B and the Sting’s motto is: “Love Everybody”.
This band is fun, their music danceable. Come share in the love.

A 2021 performance of theirs in St. Louis Park:

I'll be dancing to many of their songs. Feel free to join in or not, with or without a partner. It's typically a fun group-dance happening at Lake Harriet.

Parking:
Pay parking in nearby lots. I typically find a free spot on the street on the neighborhood just to the west of the bandshell area (through the underpass under the trolley track).

Bring a lawn chair or blanket, water, cash and credit card (probably both is best) for parking, or food at the concession area (the Bread and Pickle), possibly a food truck, or bring your own food, if you so desire. "Cash is king" but sometimes credit cards are required for parking, and for vendors who don't like large sums of cash on hand, for safety reasons.
Mosquito repellant may or may not be needed (your guess is as good as mine).
I use ear plugs when dancing near the band (your call).

Weather:
In case of rain: monitor the Minneapolis Parks Music in the Parks Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/mplsmusicmovies/ .
If/when I find out about any cancellation or go-ahead the day of this event I'll post a comment on this page with information as soon as I am able.

How to find us:
As you face the stage from the audience look to your right, and behind you, in a shaded area, by the small hill. I look like my photo. I'll be wearing my orange-green-red-yellow "jungle leaves" design cap. Look for a 5-1/2 ft. green pole with a balloon on the end of it. It'll be near us.
