"[Tonglen] is a method for overcoming fear of suffering and for dissolving the tightness of our hearts." ~ Pema Chödrön

We often spend our lives trying to push away discomfort or shield ourselves from the pain of the world. This week, we explore Tonglen, an ancient Tibetan "taking and sending" practice designed to transform the way we relate to difficulty. Instead of turning away, we learn to breathe in the suffering of ourselves and others and breathe out relief, joy, and love to us all.

What to Expect

  • Guided & Approachable: You’ll be led through every step of the Tonglen visualization process.
  • Short & Sweet: Our session will be around 30 minutes long (including a 15-minute guided meditation).
  • Come As You Are: No special equipment or prior meditation experience is required—just a quiet place to sit and an open heart.

How to Join

  • Platform: Microsoft Teams (Link provided upon RSVP).
  • Arrival: Please enter the virtual waiting room a few minutes early so we can start on time. Once we begin the collective meditation, I won’t be able to admit late arrivals.
