Configuration management systems

November's guest is Tom Hallam.

He will discuss configuration management systems. He’ll compare SALT and Puppet as examples of different approaches. This is based on his experience deploying SALT and ten Puppet servers to manage over 350 Red Hat desktops and 30 Red Hat servers at UWA. The presentation will be fairly informal with plenty of scope for discussion.

Tom is an IT Manager and Systems Administrator with over 25 years experience working on Mac, PC and Unix/Linux systems in the tertiary sector. He's been involved in SAGE-AU on and off for over 14 years. He used to organise the SAGE-WA meetings.
