Don't miss Demeter and Persephone: A Myth of Death and Rebirth.

It's tomorrow, Wednesday, March 15 from 6:30 to 5:30

Join us and and learn the important messages the two ancient goddesses, Demeter and Persephone, have for contemporary today!

In Ancient Greece the Spring Equinox signals the return of Persephone from the underworld to be reunited with her mother, Demeter, Greek Goddess of the Grain. With Persephone’s return Demeter rejoices and releases her hold on the Earth that made it barren and cold. Once again the flowers are blooming and the crops are growing.

On one level this myth re-established the importance of the cycle of birth, death and re-birth. The understanding and importance of being in tune with the rhythms of nature and the cycle of life had been lost in our current world of consumerism, logic, and practicality. Yet, for our modern society, there is also a deeper transpersonal meaning of Persephone’s descent.

In this circle you will learn how Persephone illustrates for us that some of our most difficult journeys can become our greatest teachers. Through myth, guided imagery, and ritual we will strive to understand the cycle of birth, death and re-birth and the deeper meaning of Persephone’s descent as we celebrate the return of spring.
