How well do you know downtown Asheville? Test your knowledge and meet new friends in our first ever Downtown Asheville Scavenger Hunt! Hosted by Julie B. and her friend Meredith

Here’s how it works:

When and Where:

We will meet at Bear’s Smokehouse at 135 Coxe Avenue at 2:30pm to grab drinks (if you’d like) before the hunt. Bear’s offers a wide array of beverages, including non-alcoholic options.

We will break up into teams and go over the rules at 3:00pm; teams will have 10-15 minutes to review the clues and determine if they would like to break up and hunt individually or stay together and hunt as a team.
The hunt will begin at 3:15pm.

The Hunt:

Teams will have an hour to hunt for 40 clues scattered across downtown and take a selfie with each clue. Bonus points for taking a selfie with the clue and a willing stranger. More willing strangers = more points.
The hunt ends at 4:15pm at the starting point, Bear’s Smokehouse.
It will take 20-30 minutes to review all the teams’ answers and determine the winner — if you cannot stay, no worries! We will post the winning group in the event chat.

The prize will be the glory of winning 🏆

We will grab dinner after if you’d like to stay — you will likely be hungry!

What you will need to bring:
◦ Walking or running shoes (the hunt spans from South Slope to the north end of downtown)
◦ A pencil or pen to mark off clues as you find them
◦ Your competitive spirit!

Parking
Parking is available at a paid lot at the corner of Hilliard and Coxe, as well as at the Coxe Avenue garage located at 52 Coxe Avenue (approximately a 3-minute walk).

*This event is also advertised in multiple other places, so the attendance number might be slightly different from what is reflected here.
