Black Sands Beach Hike in the Headlands (Moderate Diff, 4 mi)

There are so many cool beaches tucked away in the Marin Headlands— let’s hike to one!

THIS TRAIL DIFFICULTY IS MODERATE AND MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR NEWER HIKERS. If you’re looking to dip your toes into hiking, I try to post easy difficulty hikes sometimes too :)

We’ll meet in the Julian Trail parking lot by the traffic circle. I am not sure how busy that parking lot is, but there are many parking areas in the Marin Headlands, so hopefully you’re able to find parking somewhere!

We’ll take a break when we reach the beach itself and enjoy the scenery. Depending on how long we break, the whole hike should take us a little over 2 hours there and back, bringing us back to our cars around lunchtime.
