House of Sky Trail

This hike makes me think of Game of Thrones. So just for this weekend, you can be a hiker, of House Sky. Jokes aside, this trail follows a ridge line that gives great views of the surrounding Missoula area. We will hike to the top of Mitten Mountain and turn around at that point. Snow is possible at higher elevations Saturday night, so if trailhead access looks dicey, we’ll switch to a hike in Crazy Canyon. I’ll update the event page if plans change. It’s also opening weekend for rifle hunting season, so please wear hunter orange or bright clothing for safety.

Old School Directions:
Drive up Pattee Canyon Road past the Pattee Canyon Trailhead parking lot, where the road turns to dirt. After about a mile, turn right onto gated Forest Service Rd 2127-1 and follow it for around 3 miles to the trailhead. Low-clearance vehicles can make it, but high-clearance is preferred.
