Craft Stories, Coffee/Tea/Snacks, and Community Every Wednesday
Join an growing circle of emerging writers for honest feedback, creative growth, and snacks/coffee/drinks in a setting designed to push your work toward publication and commercial success

(UPDATE: this event is now being hosted at my (Matt's) home which provides an even better atmosphere for sharing work and discussion (we used to meet at Foxtail Cafe). There's almost always at least 4-5 of us and we cap it at 8 max. see location details for more info)

## 📅 Essential Details

  • When: Wednesdays, 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM (arrive by 6:15 to secure seating)
  • Where: Matt's House in Gran Paradiso
  • Host Contact: Matt – 631‑452‑2248
  • Limited Capacity: 7-8 writers maximum – RSVP required to guarantee your spot.

## 🖋️ Session Structure

  1. Coffee & Connections – (optional) bring your preferred beverage or snacks
  2. Read Your Work – Share up to 2,000 words of fiction or narrative nonfiction (you can have another member read for you if you prefer)
  3. Focused Feedback – Receive targeted critique from every member:
  • What works / resonates
  • How to improve (we aim for constructive feedback)
  1. Full Circle – Everyone shares, everyone grows

## 📚 What to Expect

  • Welcome Genres: Fiction (novels, short stories, screenplays) and narrative nonfiction. All genres including sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, and literary are welcome. (Poetry and personal journals reserved for potential future sessions)
  • Come Prepared: Bring physical copies of your work, enough for everyone (if don't have a printer, that's ok too, just read off your phone or tablet or laptop), something to take notes with, and professional openness to critique. NOTE: Many pieces of work may contain mature themes; when reading and giving feedback we aim to be respectful and judge each others' works on the merits.
  • Our Philosophy: We're building work ready for readers and publication—authentic, constructive criticism delivered with respect
  • Community Standard: Candid feedback wrapped in genuine support; we elevate each other's writing ability through honesty, but also aim to avoid anything that feels like a tear down or insensitive since writing can be quite personal.

## ☕ Beyond the Session

  • Fuel your creativity with on-site snacks and drinks, we'll also be able to see some nature / lake views out the back window, along with Sunset
  • We play some relaxing jazz / light classical music in background to set the mood

Turn your writing from aspiration to achievement. If you're committed to transforming your manuscript pages into published work that connects with readers, your chair awaits this Wednesday.
