IMPORTANT UPDATE: I was able to get a group rate of $8.50 per person, tax included. In order to access that rate for skates and rink fee combined, you must arrive with cash or Venmo before 8:45 p.m. If you arrive late, you can still skate but you will have to pay the regular $13. Let’s meet up and go ice skating at AZ Ice Arcadia! The evening public skate time on Sun 2/24 is 8:30-10:00pm. We’ll meet up there, get our rentals, and skate for 1-2 hours. Then we can go over to grab food and/or drinks at the attached bar, Ice House Tavern. Feel free to join us anytime during the public skate or at the bar if we’ve moved there already (you can text us to confirm where the group is)! Everyone is welcome, regardless of your skating status – professional hockey players and ice skate newbies alike, along with everyone in between! AZ Ice Arcadia admission info: All Skate Rentals = $3.50 Military/ Military Family Admission = $5.00 (per person, up to 4 people) Adult Admission (13 and up) = $9.50 If you have questions leading up to the event or have trouble finding the group the day of, feel free to comment here or text us! Hi friends! We’re playing some friendly football (soccer…!) games at Escalante Park in Tempe. They’re going to be fun, informal pick-up games – we just want to get out and play – so all skill levels are welcome! We’ll get started setting up, gearing up, and warming up on the NW corner of the park at 6pm and aim to kick off at 6:20pm. If you come later, we'll have people jump in to the games so no worries - come anytime for however long! We have bright-colored pinnies to make it super easy to split up the teams. Definitely also bring some water!! Hydrate or die-drate, as they say. Forewarning: there will be running! Cardio is goodio! The goal is to have a no-pressure group playing regularly on Mondays. If you’ve been wanting to kick around a ball and get some team play in or if you’ve been wanting to learn and get better, join us out on the field; we’re excited to have you! Feel free to post any questions here or send me a message. I can't wait to play some soccer together!
Howdy folks! We're organizing an afternoon in the park on Sunday March 10th. Come along anytime 12-5pm for a potluck picnic, lots of pick-up games (volleyball, soccer, flag football, cornhole, ladderball), and to have a great time hanging out, meeting new people! It's an open invite to anyone in their 20s/early 30s as usual; come along by yourself or feel free to bring friends, housemates, partners etc. Dogs are welcome too :) It'll be a great event to meet and get to know people, especially if you're new to the area! The picnic festivities will be at Esteban Park as it's a fairly central location and has lots of space. You can park right next to where we'll be so you'll have no problem getting there and finding everyone. We usually set up in the grassy area on the southwest side of the park by a couple picnic tables. We'll put up a volleyball court and a small soccer field with goals on the grass (this'll also serve as a flag football field) as well as cornhole and ladderball. We'll also have music, snacks, a water cooler, Snapchat filter, etc but if you can bring some food/drinks as well that would be awesome! Suncreen/hat/sunglasses are also recommended because #weliveinphoenixnow It'll be a great afternoon with some competitive (and friendly!) games and a welcoming environment so we're excited to have lots of folks come hang out!!
Join us on a hike to one of my favorite spots in Arizona!! This is an 8 mile hike that leads to a waterfall and swimming hole near the town of Strawberry. Permit season starts April 1st, so why not take advantage of the last weekend of open season? We will meet at the Bass Pro Shops at 8 AM then carpool to the trail head (the drive is roughly 2 hours). The hike is 4 miles downhill to the waterfall and swimming hole. The return hike is 4 miles and it is all uphill at a steep incline, so be prepared for the return trip to be a bit brutal. feel free to search Fossil Springs Trail on AllTrails if you want to see more info on the trail. We will make a stop at That Brewery in Pine after the hike, then head back down to the valley. What to bring: Gallon of water Snacks Swim suit Towel Hiking boots Water shoes Fleece jacket (it could get cold in the canyon later in the day). Dogs: Last time I did this trail, I went with a friend who brought her dog along. The dog’s paws were torn up from the rocks on the trail. For this reason, I would not recommend that you take your dog on this hike. If you sign up and can’t make it, please be sure to change your RSVP. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. Ps: I added photos from my last trip to the creek.
