NC Coastal Ride is one of the top rated centuries on the east coast. The ride has coastal scenery, flat roads, and low traffic. Three days of cycling, with the routes starting and ending in the small waterfront town of Edenton NC. The routes has multiple mile options, ranging from 5-100. Join us at the High Cloud PeasantMan Triathlon at the beautiful Lake Anna State Park and Beach. Both the Sprint and Olympic will take place on the same day. The run will be along the trails overlooking the Lake. The bike ride will be 11/22 miles. The swim will have a 750/1,500 meters. The run will have a 5k/10k. Http://legacy.imathlete.com/events/Peasantman2019 As part of the PeasantMan experience, we will hold a variety of activities the day before the race. These activities include A. Open water swim clinic, followed by an open water swim B. Basic bike maintenance and riding etiquette for newbies C. Organized bike ride, with cuesheet, between 11-100+ miles. The bike ride will take place on the Kinetic Half course for the veterans or just within the part and away from fast moving cars for the newbies. The format of the rides will be that of any century rides that you have been a part of. D. BBQ with all of your new friends! High Cloud's PeasantMan has swag, professional timing, raffles, on-course support to keep you pumped up, sponsored food, beverages and much more! You will reach your High Cloud and get a whole VIP experience with your PeasantMan victory celebration! We have everything to make this a great event. It is more than a training day; it is global event embracing many communities, children and athletes at once! Proceeds from the event will go to provide educational and sports programs to the High Cloud and Achieve children! If you want to show up only to swim, bike, run, or any combo of the three .... that is also acceptable! This is a training weekend with a picnic in a social atmosphere as opposed to a competitive one. No one there will be tracking your time. You go and handle things at your own pace. Timing splits will be posted online for all those who wish to know that info. Come out and have fun with folks who share your passions.
Storming of Thunder Ridge is a Supported Century ride with breathtaking views of Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia. The ride is one of my favorites. It's very well organized and staffed. Swag is great, t-shirt that you'll actually wear and a custom SOTR beer glass. It's without doubt worth paying for. Save the date and register early for the best price. http://stormingofthunderridge.org Optional: This year, we might make it a weekend event. IE leave DC on Friday and have the whole Saturday for hiking and wine tasting, camping and etc. Sunday open for our ride. Ride details: The ride START/FINISH is once at the Jamerson Family YMCA. Saturday night out door CAMPING on our Soccer Fields is an option for our riders!!! In door camping is available at $10 per person. Restrooms are located in the pavilion, and the YMCA will close Sat night at 8PM and reopen at 6AM for showering… Riders can take advantage of all our amenities: shower facilities, whirlpool, and swimming pools. So bring your swimsuit!!! They do NOT have a towel service, so please bring your own towel, and a lock for your belongings. And once again this year we will have the WHOLE Jamerson YMCA for our use. Another great ride in the Mountains; worth it for the amazing scenery. GCGF is one of the more challenging rides, but there are many mile options to scale it to your ability. Showers are available afterwards. Absolutely the best swag T Shirts of any century! The ride makes a great weekend in the mountains with good friends!
