Come meet a sponsor of our meetup group: Dr. Karson Mui, of Mui Chiropractic (https://www.muichiropractic.com/home.html).

Dr Karson Mui is a Chiropractor who will talk about his professional perspective on running and running injuries and how he uses modalities such as the following to treat runners:

  • Kinesio taping
  • Graston Technique
  • Vibration Plate Therapy
  • Trigger Point Massage

He will explain why these are effective, and provide us with some demonstrations as well.

As all runners know, there are things runners need to know such as how to diagnose or seek out the proper treatment on our aches, pains, or injuries from the right people. (IMHO, we often need to know more than our general practitioner doctors do). To that end, we'll be learning a lot of great information from Dr Mui.

Dr Mui sponsors a sub 2:50 marathon runner, Mike, who increased his time 8% in a 5-month period. Mike was able to train hard thanks to Dr Mui's ability to help reduce pain and mitigate the wear and tear of hard training. Dr Mui will also share his perspective on the value of minimalist/barefoot running.

We'll also get a tour of his office (some cool equipment) and he'll answer our questions.

We will go for a 2-mile minimalist run after the talk, weather permitting. (Wear whatever footwear you like).
