What we’re about
Welcome to the 22 Peaks Project Meetup Group!
22 Peaks Project is more than mountain climbing—it’s a Christ-centered journey of hope, healing, and transformation. Inspired by the 22 veterans who tragically lose their lives to suicide every day, this project is a call to action. We climb to honor their struggles, raise awareness, and support Mission 22, an organization dedicated to saving lives through education, treatment, and community support.
Along the way, we’re learning to persevere through life’s challenges by leaning on Christ, strengthening our faith, and developing our hearts, minds, and bodies. Each climb teaches us invaluable lessons about resilience, trust, teamwork, and the power of community, as we apply the truths of God’s Word to overcome both physical and spiritual mountains—together.
For me, the 22 Peaks Project is deeply personal. Over the years, I’ve endured 22 hospitalizations for pancreatitis, battled severe pain, fought through addiction and depression, lost my military career, and faced some of life’s most daunting challenges. Yet, by God’s grace, I’ve been able to climb out of the darkest valleys and reach new summits in life. Through it all, my strength has come from Jesus and His Word, who has been my guide, my anchor, and my source of hope.
Together, with a #teamneverquit mindset, we’re on a mission to climb life’s mountains—both literal and figurative—with faith, perseverance, and purpose.
About 22 Peaks Project:
22 Peaks Project uses the challenge of climbing mountains as a metaphor for life’s obstacles. Each summit represents a lesson—one inspired by the first letter of the mountain’s name—that connects physical endurance with spiritual growth.
We face these challenges as a community, drawing strength from God’s Word and each other. Guided by passages like Luke 6:12, John 10:10, Jeremiah 29:11, and Philippians 4, we aim to develop our hearts, minds, and bodies in Christ to overcome any obstacle life throws at us.
Through these climbs, we raise funds and awareness for Mission 22, empowering their work to save veterans’ lives, while also sharing the hope and redemption found in Jesus.
