What we're about

Welcome to the 221B Book Club!

The spirit of the club is to have fun, intelligent conversation about interesting books.

Meetings are held Sundays 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, once a month at the Lancaster Library. If you have trouble finding the club, ask the librarian to direct you to the meeting room.

Everyone is encouraged to bring two questions/discussion topics as well as a suggestion for the next book. A discussion guide will also be provided at the meeting as a backup to get the conversation flowing.

The book for the following month will be decided by a vote of those present at the current month's meeting. Everyone who wants one will have a chance to promote their suggestion prior to putting it to a vote.

Some ground rules:

1. Be respectful. There will be disagreements. Please understand there is more than one way to interpret a book. In fact, diversity of opinion is what makes a discussion interesting.

2. Socializing. The first and last 15 minutes of the meeting will be set aside for socializing. During book discussion time, please keep conversation on topic and side conversations to a minimum.

3. Dominating. Everyone deserves a chance to speak and be heard. Don't be a jerk...

4. Didn't finish the book? Come anyway. You can still provide valuable insight. Just be aware we will probably give away spoilers if you haven't finished.
