8.5 mile Thursley Common boardwalk & Dragonflies circular hike
Details
Explore 8.5miles/14km of Thursley Common colourful heathland paths, watch dragonflies whilst strolling over boardwalks and catch the best views.
We have visited Thursley early in spring. This time however, the scenery has changed. Our 14km route takes us further into the colourful heathland maze of endless paths with a stroll on the recently re-opened boardwalk over the wetlands. It’s Dragonfly season and we can watch these unique creatures in bright colours above the water.
Thursley is a stunning nature reserve offering sandy but firm footpaths with every step you feel surrounded by seeming wilderness and rich wildlife. We’ll start at Thursley, a quaint chocolate box village, named after the god Thor. We then follow some windy paths to reach the open landscape and boardwalk and finally climb a little hill to gaze into the distance.
Option to visit the Three Horseshoe Pub after the hike for lunch or refreshments.
