Walking Tour - The Way Manchester's Original City Plan Worked

Walk through Manchester's Downtown and see it with new eyes! Explore how the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company created Manchester as the only large-scaled planned city in New England. Learn about how Elm Street came to be and what the parks were used for in the early days. See the layers of historical architecture, and spot some of the city's earliest buildings. The tour, led by Aurore Eaton, Executive Director, will start with a visit to the Manchester Historic Association Research Center at 129 Amherst Street to view early maps of Manchester. Please wear comfortable shoes.
