Walk and Talk - Hythe/Lympne edition

Details
Mike and I are leading a moderate but hilly 3ish mile walk to and through Port Lympne and along the canal. It does involve a semi-steep uphill climb and later a fairly steep downhill scramble, but it won't be fast, just a leisurely pace with good company and conversation, finishing back just beyond the carpark for a drink at a canal-side cafe.
Good walking shoes or old trainers advised; we will not be held responsible for loss or ruin of crocs or your favourite Air Jordans!
Route details below if you want to be prepared in advance, or if you like a surprise, just meet us at the West Hythe Carpark at 2pm!
West Hythe Carpark does cost £2 per hour so car-sharing is encouraged!
We will meet at West Hythe Carpark and stomp up Lympne hill, mostly on footpaths but with a short bit of road. We will then head west to enjoy the beautiful views across the hillside, before hitting the edge of Port Lymne zoo, where we will follow the "secret" (FREE!) path down through the middle and directly past the giraffe house. If we're lucky we may get some good views of giraffes, zebras and one or two other interesting creatures! A bit of a mud-track scramble (but hopefully not too squelchy) down to the bottom, then back along the canal, finishing at #Unit1 for a drink!
