Porchfest with friends! Day One!

Come explore the first day of Tacoma's Porchfest 2025 with friends! Every year people open their porches to bands and musicians (and you!), all for free! 110 homes and 272 bands are participating this year!

We'll assemble at the intersection of State St and S 8th St at noon and move out from there, hopping from porch-to-porch. There are two venues at that intersection so I will post the address of one of the locations when I arrive. I will try and make sure we post where we're at throughout the event, as messages on this event, so you should be able to meet up with us later in the afternoon.

I will not really be leading a group around per se, just providing a place to meet and hopefully coordinating locations as we go. My preference is for people to form their own groups (even one big one) and wander around on their own, because it will be too big and long and hot for me to be responsible for guiding us around lol.

Take a look at the map, but the basic idea is all afternoon the homes south of 6th ave are hosting musicians at various times and we'll wander around finding things that sound good to us. I'll try and have each group post a message with the address of where they are as they move around, so you should be able to meet up with us anytime in the afternoon. The festivities go until 7pm, but I know I won't make it that long myself, so please use the comments to meet up later in the day.

Parking and traffic is almost certainly going to be nuts. Highly recommend you take the bus ($2 fare on the 1/11/28 lines) or walk/bike. If you need to drive you'll likely have a better time parking outside the neighborhood bounds (check the map) and walking in.

The weather should be really nice so bring a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle. There will be water filling stations around.
