Volunteering with Friends: Building Furniture for Families in Need

Hey everyone come join us in helping out our community, there is a time limit, this ends at noon, so while its ok to show up late its preferable to be there on time if possible. All you need is appropriate clothing and to be there. They also take donations, details for that towards the bottom.

WHAT IS NW FURNITURE BANK? NW Furniture Bank helps restore hope, dignity and stability in our community by recycling donated furniture to people in need. NW Furniture Bank serves about 130 families each month giving them dignity and stability as they rebuild their lives.

WHEN AND WHERE IS THE PROJECT?
Date: Saturday, July 26th
Time: 9a-12p beginning with a brief site tour
Group Size: 15 max volunteers

Location: NW Furniture Bank, 117 Puyallup Ave, Tacoma WA 98421
Parking: Please DO NOT park on Puyallup Ave, but turn onto the dead-end street at the left side of the Hope Furnishings building and park in the fenced parking lot. Come in through the orange door. We suggest leaving valuables tucked away in your vehicle.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Having some fun!!
• Assembling IKEA furniture.
• Note: All volunteers must be 14 or older.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

• You should dress comfortably and in clothing that can get dusty or dirty. Layers work well since the temperature of the warehouse varies.
• You will be working on concrete flooring – good comfy shoes are suggested! Shoes must be close-toed; no sandals allowed.
• Feel free to bring a water bottle and a snack if you need something. We have coffee!
