Ember ATX Meetup

Details
Join us in downtown Austin! This month's meetup will be hosted at the Galvanize (http://www.galvanize.com/campuses/austin-2nd-street-district/) campus in the 2nd street district.
There will be plenty of food, drinks and enlightenment. We'll be migrating over to the Gingerman (http://thegingerman.com/austin/) for an informal social event after the night's talks. This month's lineup is:
This Month's Featured Speaker: Brandon Hayes
Brandon left the world of marketing to find that creating software made him happy. He lives in Austin, TX where he is head of engineering at OJO Labs. Brandon's lifelong mission to to hug every developer. The Talk
You chose to use your tools because something about them spoke to you. But there’s also tremendous social pressure to constantly learn and migrate to new technologies, for reasons you may not even agree with. You also have the added strain of trying to ship high-quality software on tight timelines. So how do you know when do you fight to swim upstream and when to go with the flow?
We’ll use the example of journeying into React, as well as stories from folks who have made significant contributions to our industry, to illustrate the empowering concepts of “tactical alignment” versus “philosophical alignment”. Armed with this knowledge, you can sidestep many existential crises that come with our ever-changing landscape and focus on shipping great work.
Don't forget to thank our wonderful sponsors!
The food and drink sponsor this month is ojolabs!
We'd like to give a big hug to our venue sponsor, Galvanize (http://www.galvanize.com/campuses/austin-2nd-street-district/), for hooking us up with a super sweet downtown location. We're incredibly excited about the space!
Parking
There is a paid garage in the Galvanize building that has reasonable prices after hours. We also recommend taking public transit, looking for street parking, parking in the surface lot at Guadalupe and 3rd or using the City Hall or Violet Crown parking garages.
How to find us in the Galvanize building
Take the elevator to the second floor to check in at the front desk. They will direct you to the correct lecture space.
We'd love to hear from you!
