Is God A 'Personal' God?

Details
The concept means two different things to me.
-
Is God a person?
-
Does God interact with each of us on a personal basis?
Of course, if the answer to #1 is 'no', then the answer to #2 is probably 'no' as well. But it's still two questions and we can roll them both around.
Of course we know that if God is a person, the parameters of that personhood would be far beyond what you or I mean by person. So we'll have to talk about definitions and traits of personhood, and how these apply to our concept of God.
I myself am big on the 'both, and' kind of answer these days, so I'll probably be trying to ride that fence. My mom always believed in the Carl Sagan sort of God... the great Engineer who set it all up and doesn't bother with each individual atom. My concept of God includes a being which is so mighty that it can interest itself with life on both the macro and the micro level. But I have changed over time... I no longer pray for God to find me a parking space. :-)
