Why Are They So Moody? Understanding and Supporting Socio Emotional Development
Details
Everyone's an Educator Series - Session 1 Supporting Socio-Emotional Development
Join us as we discuss how children develop their social and emotional selves.
Children are not born social creatures. It develops slowly over time and requires very specific skills when navigating social situations. Social skills can be taught and practiced.
As children navigate social structures, there will be times of frustration, embarrassment, hurt feelings, and difficult decisions to make. As adults, we must help children learn to manage these feelings and respond appropriately in various situations.
In Series 1, we will explore how children develop these socio-emotional skills, how we as adults can support them, and what is within acceptable "normal" behaviors by age according to experts.
We will also briefly discuss how to track behaviors that seem concerning and steps to take if or when help is needed with their behaviors.
We look forward to seeing you at Session 1!
