Open to technology startups in BC

The BCIC-New Ventures Competition is open to any BC resident, team or business with an innovative technology product or service.

By innovative technology, we mean that you have created something new—whether it’s a biomedical device, a software platform or a wearable technology.

Our definition of technology is broad. Past winners (http://newventuresbc.com/wp/the-competition/past-winners/) have used technology to solve complex problems like turning compost into energy (http://newventuresbc.com/wp/round-3-profile-recycle-now/). They develop software platforms to help millennials fundraise online (http://newventuresbc.com/wp/top-25-profile-change-heroes/). They create high-fidelity characters (http://newventuresbc.com/wp/round-3-profile-ziva-dynamics/) for film and virtual reality.

Early-stage companies

We focus on early-stage companies. That means you cannot have raised more than $500,000 from external investors. By external, we are referring to investors who aren’t friends, family or company founders. (Yes, grandma’s help is okay.)
