Pre-requisite: Comfortable with your digital camera, a basic understanding of brightness and contrast

This workshop is one of my favorites. Learn to convert images to black and white by doing more than just desaturating or choosing the black and white image adjustment techniques. Learn how to target specific frequencies for building a great black and white image with the classic idea of zone editing. Control contrast in specific tonal ranges versus mirrored contrast. Master controlling tonal ranges for style choices of your images and how that will affect your print.

In this class I will also demonstrate some layer tricks for black and white processing that allows you to mix techniques for one image and how to introduce subtle photo tones that you can control rather than just selecting the Adobe provided presets. Sepia, Selenium, Cross-processing and more for black and white images.
