By reflecting back on what you heard, you meet the person’s need to be understood. By asking clarifying questions you give the person space to explore what’s important for them now.

======================
Does your work involve dealing with authors, content providers, subject matter experts, or representatives of other disciplines?
Having a customer-centric approach when dealing with these stakeholders can significantly improve project outcomes, but what are some of the strategies to enable this?
Working with an author, content provider, subject matter expert, or a representative of another discipline can be challenging; so come out, share your experiences and learn from others!
This workshop is meant to empower you to work with these important stakeholders through an examination of a case study, experience-sharing, and some practical exercises.
About the organizers:
Jonathan Kahn, from #dareconf in London, UK, frequently speaks on the topic of trust when working on digital projects (https://lucidplot.com/2015/09/02/learn-practices-for-building-trust-in-groups-my-new-gift-economy-style-evening-course/) and has agreed to remotely help us put this workshop together.
Ksenia Cheinman is a novice in the IA/CS fields, woking in the public sector. She is not an expert on the proposed subject, but wishes to facilitate this session because client collaboration challenges are as common in her work as the dozens of new emails that await her every morning.
