Down among the Dead Things (rescheduled session. aka: the Mysterious Vale)
Details
Escaping the dangers of their ascent from the underworld following the path of Torkal, our player heroes met with the treachery of their guide from Maranaba, Halor, who led them into the clutches of the First Blood lord named Farrad Blacktooth. Only the words of the sonorous housecarl Aloranil and the caution of Hororl the Toothless persuaded Dusipitus to remain loyal to the cause of Tarkalor and the rebellion of the Kordrosing tribe against Moirades, King of Tarsh.
After that Dusipitus and his father Hargorost rallied the Tarsh tribes to their cause and, with the army of Markalor, marched on Furthest. The Lunars drew up for battle at Ewe Moor. There the fearsome array of the Gerorosing, Kordrosing, Yarandrosing and Ormelorosing tribes fell upon the Orokoveining spears, the Furthest Foot, the Glory Spears, the Shieldwall Foot and the First Bloods who fought for Ar-Gerthan the Phargentite. And as their rage was let loose, the Tarsh rebels were deserted by the people of Maranaba; under their warleader Pale Arim the Earth Blood warriors and the tribespeople of the Marantarosing, Hendarling and Iristarosing tribes left the field. In the battle that followed the Greydogs fought bravely: Origrim Vanak Spear slew the Herengkorosing champion Talastrus Boarkiller and Kestona Sheep-woman killed a six-armed priestess with a single bullet from her sling. When the Herengkorosings and Kingslayers attacked, the stature of Aloranil the Talaring and the steadfastness of Hororl the Whistler were the rock upon which Orfred Orljornsson kept the shieldwall intact, even when Urlannor Boarspear the Orkovalding foolishly led the Erlica warriors in pursuit of the retreating First Bloods.
When the day ended Hargorost had fallen and the Kordrosings and their allied tribes slipped from the field. Markalor and our heroes retreated over the Dendrog Pass and, meeting Tarkalor’s army in Dwarf Run, built a mighty fortification at Dwarf Ford. But the Tarshites has their own affairs to deal with, and the Phargentites delivered no attack against Sartar.
When our heroes returned to Lismelder lands their deeds were lauded by the skalds. During the feast of Genertmas in Storm Season many were cowed when the ancestors and the umbrolings called for the broken myth of Vingkot the Cup Thief to be called in, but for the Yearbringing the Vinga and Ordestor Storms came early and the omens were good.
Now a full year has passed. Kestona Shearblade and Argrimyr Bearscowl hunted a white hart in Hare Woods: her name was Velhara and she spoke to them. At the feast at Redbone Market Urlannor called upon them to name himself or Orfred Orljornsson as the greater man. When he did this the white hart appeared in the feasting hall and Kestona named Orfred — after that, Orfred disappeared in the hunt that followed.
As the year of 1582 approaches, the Greydogs look fervently to their Yearbringing ceremony, hoping that Vinga and Ordestor will bring good omens for the tribe and clan...
