Winter Woes Herbal Pantry Workshop
Details
An alarming number of well-meaning people choose to “do nothing” and suffer unnecessarily through painful colds, flus, sinus congestion, fevers more more. What they sometimes don’t know is that nutrient-depriving pharmaceuticals are not the only option for relief, and that help is often within reach of their own kitchens, backyards and neighborhood parks.
In this hands-on demo and discussion workshop, herbalist Amy Bousman will thoroughly explore a manageable list of effective, traditional, plant-based home remedies, and how to properly use them in various forms (infusions, tinctures, steams, etc.). We will make an organic, nutrient-dense, herb-infused chicken stock; a great food-based remedy to have on hand at all times and easy to make in your own home. We will also create (and enjoy!) herbal cocoa-a great soothing remedy for all (and especially enjoyed by children) during the long, cold months.
Each participant will leave with an in-depth handout covering all topics discussed in class and a handcrafted “Gypsy Cold & Flu” organic infusion blend. Fresh-made herbal tinctures discussed in class will be offered at a 20% discount.
