Global Day of Coderetreat - 2014 - Functional Style

The much anticipated GDCR 2014 has been announced for November 15th

This year Movio will host a functional programming themed retreat in Auckland. There will be at least one other standard retreat here in Auckland.

We're going to limit the languages to: Scala, Clojure, F#, Haskell

It would be worth having a look at one of the languages before the event, and making sure that you have an environment step up ready to run unit tests, recommendations:

We'll be focusing on standard code retreat lessons, eg TDD, peering etc, however we'll have a strong focus on functional, eg, immutability, referential transparency, pure functions etc.

We'll meet at 8:30 and get setup, first session at 9am on the dot.
